Mabushii.com

Friday, February 27th, 2009

The inner circle of the upper echelon of the Mabushii domain has dictated that our main (front page) for www.mabushii.com be converted into a gaming blog of sorts.

That being said, future posts relating to gaming would be posted there instead of here and my blog would head more in the direction of a personal blog rather than a hybrid of both.

Its finally here…

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

Well, technically, it has been here for exactly a week now. My newest and most expensive toy to date. Its red, its shiny, it growls and it moves about like a speed demon. If you haven’t guess what it is then check out the pics below.

And I’m loving it. It is a Mitsubishi Lancer ES 09 Model with 2.0 Mivec engine and a 6 speed Continuous Variable Transmission gear. The only thing that I didn’t like is the rims. Buying this car has already burn an enormous hole in my many pockets and alloy rims, tint, body kit and spoilers would have to wait.

The countdown begins.

The sun rises and sets. The world revolves around the sun. Day fades to night. Night turns to day. The clock ticks. And so the countdown begins.

Heatwave plus silver lining

Tuesday, February 3rd, 2009

Last week has suffered a record heatwave, with three days over 43 degrees last week and the CBD reaching 44.2 degrees. There has not been a heatwave of this severity since the keeping of records in the mid-1880s. 310 rail services have been cancelled across Melbourne on Friday as the system tries to cope with the hot weather. More than 1,000 services have been cancelled since Tuesday morning. At least 35,000 customers throughout Victoria are without electricity due to power transformers exploding.Baby birds, possums and bats are among the wildlife not coping in the extreme heat. The RSPCA says people brought 50 possums to the Burwood East shelter, which is 10 times the usual number.

It was literally hell on earth. How I’ve suffered through the week. Travelling to and fro from work last week was an epic journey in itself. Parking outside under the 40 degrees sun made the old air cond-less car that was a test of constitution and willpower. If this were a game, I would have leveled up 10 times and gain resistance to heat.

Because of the extreme heat, I couldn’t even sleep at night. In addition to the Australian Open, I haven’t had much sleep in the last week. It made be exhausted and cranky. But there was a silver lining in all of this. I’ve got a 10% pay rise!
